Denis Juneau OP Art
Denis Juneau is a Canadian, Montreal-based painter and an important figure in the plasticien movement.
Juneau’s works are displayed at the McCord Museum in Montreal. The goal of this project is to produce an advertisement video using OP art (optical art) for his exhibition.
A more geometrical and colourful approach was used since many of his works have an important presence of geometric shapes. Those forms become a moving graphic and the core of the transitions in the video.
The movement of the shapes and texts follows the beat of the melody. The music chosen has an electrical, instrumental, detailed rhythm mood, which compliments Denis Juneau’s art.
The whole process from sorting, and selecting the arts to making them move was an enjoyable learning experience. Seeing the numerous possibilities of transitions harmonizing with the music was one of the most interesting parts.
